This is a series of three races at Ft. Steilacoom Park. All races will be on identical courses so you can track your fitness level over time. If youre new to duathlons, it involves a running leg and a biking leg. Its a lot like a triathlon except its all on trails and theres no swimming involved (see Wikipedia definition). Trail Duathlons in particular are great for those of you that mountain/cyclocross bike and trail run or have a friend who wants to team up for a race.
The course winds through the parks trail system using both single and double track. This is a winter duathlon so the trails may be muddy.
From Seattle, Take I-5 S, Exit 129, Right at S 74th St., Continue onto Custer Rd, Right at 88th St W., Continue onto Steilacoom Blvd. Turn left at 87th Ave SW, then right onto Dresden LN SW.
Once in the park, follow the main road (Dresden LN SW) to the intersection with Angle Ln SW. Take a right on Angle LN and follow the road to a small gravel parking lot on the right-hand side. Parking is a bit limited, so please look for opportunities to car-pool.
