Take Steps for Kids is a family friendly race that benefits Big Brothers Big Sister of Eastern Missouri. It is entirely student run and the largest student run race in Missouri. Before and after the 5k, 1 mile and 150 yard dash will be activities for the whole family including performances, balloon animals, face paint and more. With registration comes a t-shirt designed by one of the "littles" of Big Brothers Big Sisters (the program matches a mentor "the big" with a child "the little"). The race is chip timed. Food is provided after the race followed by awards.
Course Information:
The course winds around Washington University in St. Louis. There are water stations and entertainment scattered along the downhill course. The course map can be found here: http://www.takestepsforkids.org/course.
Directions:
The race starts at Brookings Quad on Washington University in St. Louis campus. There is parking for anyone who drives to the race. It is also possible to arrive using the metro system- the Blue Line to Skinker Station on the MetroLink or the Red, Gold or Green line to Skinker Station or to Mallinkrodt Center Loop on the MetroBus.
