WELCOME TO THE INAUGURAL
TEXAS GRAN FONDO
In Italian Gran Fondo means "Grand Tour", a mass-start cycling ride which brings together hundreds of road cyclists of all abilities. Divided into several groups, they travel long distances in a non-competitive environment.
Extremely popular in Europe for decades, this type of event has gradually gained notoriety in North America. The Inaugural Texas Gran Fondo will appeal to those looking to ride for fun, to stay in good shape and to take on a personal challenge, all while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Texas Hill Country
This new cyclosportive invites cycling enthusiasts to discover the Texas Hill Country on an unparalleled road course, choosing a personal challenge of 153 km (95 miles), 90 km (56 miles) or 56 km (35 miles).
The Gran Fondo route will have a KOM timed segment of 5.6 miles for those who wish to test their climbing skills.
The Texas Hill Country has phenomenal and compelling features that make it ideal for road cycling. The panoramic views of the area, winding roads and the Texas hospitality will certainly make the Texas Gran Fondo one of the most popular events of the season for road cyclists in the Lone Star State and beyond.
Part of the proceeds from the Texas Gran Fondo will benefit the Hill Country Memorial Hospital.
The Texas Gran Fondo will be held on Saturday April 5th, 2014
