The Rocketman Triathlon is a USAT Sanctioned Olympic Distance Triathlon put on by the Team Rocket Tri-Club. 2014 marks the 21st year for the Rocketman Triathlon.
The event takes place at 7:30 am on Sunday, August 24, 2014, at the Carroll D. Hudson Recreation Area on Redstone Arsenal.
This race benefits the USMCR Toys for Tots Program. All participants and spectators are URGED to bring a new toy to the race. Toys can be turned in at packet pickup.
Due to military security considerations, all online entries must be received by August 17, 2014.
Cut-Off Times: All participants must complete the event in under 4 hour 30 minutes. The swim must be completed in no more than 1 hour from the time the participant started. The bike must be completed in no more than 3 hours from the time the participant started. Event officials reserve the right to pull a participant off the course if it appears as though that participant will not be able to meet the above time requirements.
Cancellation Policy: You may cancel and receive a full refund for your registration fee if you notify the Race Director no later than August 1, 2014. After August 1st, your registration fee will be deferred for Rocketman 2015.
Aquabike (Swim/Bike): Race Participants will be seeded by Estimated Swim Time (EST) and will cover the same course as the Triathlon (Swim 1500m, Bike 40K).

Collegiate: Must be a Full Time Student
Military: Currently serving Uniformed Personnel (Active, Guard, Reserve). Does not apply to Military Retirees, spouses or children of Active or Retired Military Personnel.
Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall (Male and Female) 1st Masters, Age 40+ (Male and Female) 1st Grand Masters, Age 50+ (Male and Female) 1st, 2nd, 3rd Clydesdale and Athena 1st, 2nd, 3rd Military (Male and Female) 1st, 2nd, 3rd Collegiate (Male and Female) 1st, 2nd, 3rd 5-year age groups, starting with the 15 to 19 age group ending with 85+ year olds 1st Place Relay Teams (Male, Female, Mixed, and Mixed Masters). For Mixed Masters, all team members must be Age 40 or over. 1st Place Aquabike (Male and Female)
SWIM (1.5 kilometers)
The swim takes place in the Tennessee River. We are able to coordinate with TVA to have minimum flow released from both Guntersville and Wilson Dams.
Up to 30 men and women, with the fastest Estimated Finish Time, will begin via "Wave" start. They will be followed by a wave with Collegiate Male athletes, followed by a wave with Collegiate Female athletes.
All other participants will enter the water in a time trial format two at a time with a 3-5 second interval.
Swimmers will be seeded based upon the estimated swim time you provided during registration
BIKE (40 kilometers)
The bike course is a loop course on paved asphalt. The course has a couple of rolling hills, but is primarily flat and fast. There is no water on the bike course. It is recommended that you carry two large bottles on the bicycle.
RUN (10 kilometers)
The run course takes place on a combination of asphalt roads, gravel roads and smooth gravel trail. The run will be challenging due to heat and several gradual hills.
