Swim caps are mandatory and will be provided in the race packet.
Approved helmets must be worn during the bike portion of the triathlon.
Positively no drafting.
Race numbers must be worn on the run and visible at the turn-around and finish lines.
T-shirts will be guaranteed to all pre-registered triathletes and race day registrations will be subject to remaining availability.
Awards will be presented to the overall first, second and third place male and female finishers, first place male and female masters, the top three male and female finishers in each age group, and top three finishers in the male, female and mixed relay teams.
The half mile open water swim takes place in the calm water of the Cohutta Springs Lake.
The 18 mile bike ride will take participants over gently rolling hills with a few moderate climbs and several flat fast areas.
There are no water stations during the bike portion of the race.
The 4 mile run has one hill that athletes will encounter twice on the out and back course.
From Atlanta, GA: Follow I-75 North to Us Hwy. 411, Cartersville (Exit 293). Follow US Hwy. 411 North through Chatsworth, Eton, and Crandall, Georgia. Look for Cohutta Springs Road approximately 4 miles north of Eton. Turn right. Follow Cohutta Springs Road, crossing railroad tracks, until you come to Cohutta Springs entrance on left.
From Chattanooga, TN: Take GA State Hwy. 2 East from Ringgold (Exit 350) to intersection of GA State Hwy. 2 and GA State Hwy. 225. Continue straight on connector highway (Halls Chapel Road) to US Hwy. 411. Turn south. Travel one mile to Cohutta Springs Road. Turn left. Follow Cohutta Springs Road, crossing railroad tracks, until you come to Cohutta Springs entrance on left.
From East Tennessee: Take US Hwy. 411 approximately 7 miles south of the Georgia/Tennessee state line to Cohutta Springs Road. Turn left onto Cohutta Springs Road crossing the ralroad tracks. Follow Cohutta Springs Road until you come to Cohutta Springs entrance on left.
