The Costume Run is co-presented by two Third Street nonprofits, Theatre Cedar Rapids and NewBo City Market, that hope to make an annual tradition of this interactive and theatrical twist on the traditional 5K fun run/walk. The race starts at the theatre and follows a path downtown that is focused on the trail, including Greene Square Park, along the river and features a stretch that actually runs through the Circle of Ash haunted house (with the lights on). That isnt the only interactive feature of the run as there will be an activity of sorts approximately every kilometer or five times along the course.
Course Information:
- October 26 - Day of the event
- 3:00pm Check in at TCR
- 3:45pm Meet at starting line for instructions
- 4:00pm Start race
- 5:30pm Awards at NewBo City Market
- 8:00pm End of live music at the market, time to start taking advantage of race deals at affiliate businesses
