Join us for the 3rd Annual Virtus Race through the beautiful Bosque. The run starts and ends at the Old Alameda Bridge just north of Alamedas Rio Grande Open Space parking lot. Run the well marked trails through the Bosque enjoying the best fall terrain in the city. All proceeds benefit Oak Grove Classical Academy, for more information visit www.oakgroveclassical.com.
Awards will be given for Womens and Mens division in both the 5K and 10K events. Strollers and pets allowed in the family friendly, 1 mile Fun Run, immediately following the completion of the 5K and 10k events.
Course Information:
The course starts in a heavily wooded picnic area with dynamic views of the Rio Grande to the west. One hundred yards into the trail the runner will encounter a soft sand terrain for about a quarter mile. Once the runner clears the beach glimpses of the river and the cooling effect of the tree canopy will settle you into your rhythm. The path is windey in areas however naturally well marker and cleared. The second half of the course is on the dike path perfect for picking up the pace while catching visuals of your opponents down in the river trail. The finish is where the adventure all began.
