Lawyers Have Heart (LHH) is Washingtons largest 10K race. The annual event was co-founded in 1991 by Richard Frank, Founder and Senior Principal of Olsson Frank Weeda Terman Matz PC and Alan Charles Raul, Partner at Sidley Austin, LLP as a way the Washington legal community could unite annually in support of the American Heart Association, fighting diseases which significantly impact people in their high-stress profession. LHH is now the largest annual philanthropic endeavor supported by our citys law firms and legal vendors and is celebrating its 24th year in 2014.
Since its inception, Lawyers Have Heart has raised more than $9 million to benefit the American Heart Association (AHA), whose mission is building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The 2020 Impact Goal of the American Heart Association is by 2020, to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent, while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20 percent. The Lawyers Have Heart 10K race puts this mission goal into action by getting Washingtonians active running is one of the most heart healthy activities.
