Southern Ohio parks and
forest are known for hilly, rugged terrain and we give you the
opportunity to explore them. Our hills are
untouched by the glacier activity and still rise to 1200+ feet. So
forget the stair master and get out and climb our scenic hills while
seeking checkpoints in a fun competitive navigation event. Our events are
challenging for anyone that enjoys the
outdoors or the highly competitive team seeking some serious navigation
training. All fitness levels may join the fun since each team visits
checkpoints in any order and as many as they choose. You can utilize
roads, trails or bushwhacking to maneuver your way to checkpoints. If
you can read a
map and use a compass, you'll have a great time. Someone will assist you if you get overwhelmed, don't be scared!
Not ambitious enough to race, Volunteer and you'll get all the
benefits of a racer without the pain. Hope you can join us this year.
Teams and solos will scour Great Seal State Park locating hidden
checkpoints. Checkpoints will be placed on or near trails, on, around or
under various terrain features, and distance between checkpoints varies
but usually will be about 1/2km apart. Each person can help navigate
using our topographical maps. (backseat drivers) You may utilize trails,
roads and bushwhacking.
