2010 Honolulu Triathlon:

Course Information:

1.5K Swim
  • The Swim course is in the beautiful waters of the Pacific Ocean at Ala Moana Beach Park.
  • It's a single loop course that takes the athletes along the shore which offers a great location for spectator viewing.
  • The swim course is monitored by life guards, jet skis, kayakers and boats.

    40K Bike
  • The Bike Course starts from the transition at Magic Island located in Ala Moana Beach Park.
  • Cyclists head out onto Ala Moana Blvd. at the east entrance of the park and ride west to the Nimitiz Highway and then head to the Kamehameha Highway.
  • Athletes make a u-turn before the famous gate to Pearl Harbor at Arizona Blvd. and head back east on the Kamehameha Highway which will take them back under the viaduct where they will make a right turn onto Lagoon Drive.
  • Once on Lagoon Drive athletes ride a simple out and back route which takes them pass the Honolulu International Airport and out to the Reef Runway which also serves as a alternate landing site for the USA Space Shuttle.
  • When they return to the viaduct cyclists will turn right back onto the Kamehameha Highway and under the viaduct. Athletes will continue to ride under the viaduct until they reach the Nimitz Highway and onto Ala Moana Blvd. as they head back to the transition area.
  • Note: Race management will provide mobile bike support on sections of this 40K course. Should you need assistance, please be patient until bike support arrives.

    10K Run
  • The run course is beautiful, exciting and closed to vehicle traffic. You will visit three of Honolulus favor waterfront parks.
  • The run begins at the Transition Area - Magic Island. You make your way through the park and cross over to Kewalo Basin. As the run circles the Basin you get a spectacular view of the famous fishing and tour boats located in the basin.
  • The run exits the Basin and connects to Kakaako Waterfront Park. You will enter the park at one end, make your way around and back running along Honolulus favorite boardwalk.
  • Once you exit the park you will retrace your route around Kewalo Basin on your way to the final park Kewalo Basin Waterfront Park. Here you will have breath taking views of Waikiki and Diamond Head.
  • As you exit, you will re-enter Ala Moana Beach Park and head towards Magic Island. You pass the transition area and make a loop around Magic Island and the beautiful Lagoons heading towards the finish line.
