XPLORE Urban Race Kicks Off In the City of Brotherly Love

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (June 26, 2013) Xperience Adventures has announced that its first XPLORE urban race will take place in Philadelphia on Saturday, July 20, 2013.   XPLORE is a team-based urban adventure race that incorporates solving clues, completing unique challenges and racing through the city to win cash prizes.  The grand prize starts out at $400 and grows as the number of registered racers increases.   The race will start and finish at the Field House, 1150 Filbert Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19107.  Check-in goes from 11:30am to 12:45pm and the race will begin at 1pm. Standard online pre-race pricing is $45 per person before July 20^th.  

Racers can solve a Philly-related clue on the XPLORE website for 10% off.  For those who register the day of the race the cost is $60 per person.  Onsite registration is also available, but a credit card is required for payment.  Those interested in having unlimited access to any of the XPLORE races across the country throughout 2013 can purchase a season pass for $125 per person.  

Racers are likely to travel about 5 miles throughout the race, either on foot or using public transportation.  Teams will need either a digital camera or camera phone to complete certain challenges.  The use of smart phones is encouraged to help solve clues and navigate the city.  Often referred to as Urban Racing, events such as XPLORE have become a popular alternative to the traditional weekend workout.  

XPLORE is no ordinary 5k, but rather a team of your closest friends racing through the city deciphering clues and completing unique challenges.  Much like a one-day version of The Amazing Race, teams will need a natural sense of adventure and a keen wit in order to make it to the finish line ahead of the competition and win huge cash prizes.
