What is Zombie Rush

The 2013 Zombie Rush is a full immersion 5k mud obstacle challenge and zombie chase. We have gone the extra mile for your enjoyment. When we say full immersion that means from the time you enter the compound you will feel like youre on the movie set of a zombie movie. Actually you will be. We will just happen to be filming parts for our national ad campaign that day and you may find yourself in it. The chase starts from the compound area, which is protected from the zombie infested quarantine zone. Your objective is to traverse through the many obstacles, which will be challenging and fun, but wont be insanely difficult. The zombies will be in chase zones and this is where you will have to sprint, dodge, jump, roll or do your best zombies juke! You will have health flags that the zombies really, really, really want! (Zombies are only allowed to grab flags, no purposeful physical contact allowed). The quarantine zone will be full of special effects and props to keep you entertained on your journey through the wasteland. Oh and LOTS OF ZOMBIES!

What is The Compound?

This is your safe haven from the zombies, where the fun starts and continues after your chase experience ends. The compound will be surrounded with chain link fence to keep out the undead. There will be lots to do and see in the compound. Bring your camera because there will be a lot of cool things to take pictures of. There will be great foods and beverages to keep quince your thirst and hunger after the chase. Music all day from DJs to cover bands. The following is a list of some of the events that will be going on throughout the day.

-Zombie invasion: There may be a breach in the fence by incoming zombies at anytime during the day. Not to worry, our zombie response team will handle it. You really want to have your cameras out for this one. Note: all spectators will be ushered behind a safe line. This is a live performance that involves large moving vehicles, special effects smoke and live actors.

-Team Tug-O-War in the mud pit.

-Best zombie vehicle competition. Deck your ride out now and facebook us. We want to see them. Judging will be held day of event for prizes.

-Best costume contest. Being so close to Halloween we have to do this one.

-Zombies paintball shoot. Check your zombie shooting skills here.

Course Information:

5K course with 15-20 obstacles and zombie infested areas.

Rules and safety:

Runners objective is to survive from the zombies. You will have a health barometer (three flags) on your waist. If you have even one flag left when you goal, you will receive a medal for surviving. If you lose all three flags, you will receive a medal for being infected. There will be a checkpoint to separate 5K course and 10K course. Which way you should go? Its all up to you. If you think you have enough energy to go 10K, go for it. Either way, you will encounter 15-20 natural or man made obstacles on the course. You can skip the obstacle if you dont think you can conquer it, however thats a part of your adventure and you might want to take some pictures with your water-resistant camera or GoPro for your memory So go for it. There will be a staff at the each obstacle so please follow their instruction to keep yourself and others safe. NO head dive to the mud pit/water or physical contacts to other runners is allowed.

Zombies objective is to infect the runners by taking the flags from their belt. You are only allowed to take one flag from one person. So when you grab one flag from one person, move onto the second target. For the safety reason, you are not allowed to tackle, punch, hit, kick or grab the runners. NO physical contact to the runners is allowed. There will be a zombie watch on the course so if they find excessively aggressive zombies, they will be removed from the course.

What to bring: Picture ID, Printed and Signed Waiver form, Cash for parking, team tug-o-war, zombies paintball shoot, merchandise, drinks and food

*Pre-packet pick up will be available so you can leave your picture ID in your car, skip the line to the packet pick up and head to the start line directly

What to leave at your home: Jewelries, big amount of cash, valuables, weapons (real or fake)

Parking fee will be collected at the gate (west entrance) $10 per vehicle cash only

***You are required to buy additional sport event insurance. This is to make sure you will be covered by the insurance in case of injury at the event.
