Start along the waters edge on wide cement sidewalk in Rose Starns Park. Head toward E. Mission Bay Dr making a right turn on the sidewalk. Follow sidewalk alongside Sea World Dr. on the running trail. At the traffic light turn right on S. Shores Park Rd (stay inside the cones). Turn right at the blacktop walkway (official will direct you & it will be marked) run briefly until it meets the white cement sidewalk (turn right). Take the sidewalk passing the Blue roofed Rotunda in Rose Starns park and the start line, running to E. Mission Bay Dr, turn left and head to the bike transition at the entrance to Fiesta Island! The course is staffed and clearly marked (1.5mi total)!

Athletes will mount their bikes at the entrance to Fiesta Island. Then proceed counter-clockwise around the Island. Athletes complete 3 big loops of the island (each loop 4.13mi).

NOTE: Our bike course IS MARSHALED. Our Marshals WILL ENFORCE U.S.A.T. rules!

AS OUR BIKE COURSE IS VERY FAST - there are 3 key rules the Marshals will be looking for. They are:

1) NO DRAFTING. Keep plenty of space between yourself and the biker in front of you and you may NOT ride side-by-side.

2) Your helmet must be fastened at all times

3) Slower riders must stay to the RIGHT. If a rider is shouting from behind you, that means you are in the fast lane - going slower - and you need to move to the RIGHT!

Violation of these rules will lead to DISQUALIFICATION or PENALTY.

Exiting the transition head south on sidewalk on E. Mission Bay Dr. Follow the sidewalk until you reach the running trail alongside of Sea World Dr. Follow trail to traffic light at S. Shore Park Rd. Turn right staying inside the cones. Turn right on the blacktop running path (it will be marked and race official will tell you to turn). Follow path briefly to the white cement walkway turn right. Continue to the blacktop walking path turn right (will be marked & race official will tell you to turn). Follow black top path to E. Mission Bay Dr and proceed to complete a 2nd loop same as the 1st loop, except at  ~2.4 mile mark, veer left toward Blue roofed Rotunda in Rose Starns park and take the white cement sidewalk/ramp down to the finish line. The run courses are simple, flat, fast, staffed and clearly marked (2.5mi total)!
