2010 Mountaineer Triathlon:
  • The MedExpress Spirit of Morgantown Triathlon features a sprint distance along with the olympic distance and half distance races.

    NEW EXCITING UPDATES FOR 2010

    • New swim exit next to transition area (just 30 meters from the TA entrance)

    • New swim course (keeping well north of the lock)

    • New bike courses on smooth roads (totally new routes and roads)

    • New single lap 13.1 mile run course for the half iron

    • New earlier start times with the half iron going first at 7:00am


    The City of Morgantown has been rated among the top small cities in the nation, where the spectacular scenery and the fun of a university town come together naturally! Morgantown is excited to host the MedExpress Mountaineer Triathlon and looks forward to showcasing its city to you upon arrival. Prepare yourself for something very special. The red carpet is waiting!

    • Course Information:

    The 6th Annual MedExpress Mountaineer Triathlon features a sprint distance along with the olympic distance and half distance races. The half distance includes a 1.2 mile swim in the Monongahela River, a rolling 56 mile bike ride, and a 13.1 mile run on a new flat and fast course along the Mon River, the Olympic race includes a 1500m swim, 40k bike, and 6.2mi run, and the sprint includes a 750m swim, 20k bike, and 5k run.

  • Morgantown is in northern West Virginia, 77 miles south of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.

    • Other Info:

  • The top 5 overall and the top three in all age groups, relay teams, and weight divisions in both the male and female divisions will receive beautiful, custom-made awards as well as prizes for top age group winners.

  • All finishers in all each race will also receive custom-made Finisher medals.
