Multirace.com is proud to present the 23rd Annual Independence Day Duathlon & Triathlon, held annually at beautiful Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek, Florida on July 4th each year. The races begin at 7:00 a.m. The triathlon consists of a 1/4 mile lake swim, 10 mile bike, and 3 mile 2-loop run on the scenic lake path, while the duathlon consists of a .75 mile run, 10 mile bike, then another 3 mile run.
This triathlon features a 1/4 mile swim, followed by a 10 mile closed course bike completely inside of Tradewinds Park, then finishes with a 3 mile closed course run.
The swim is a 1/4 mile swim in Tradewinds lake. It is a great race for first timers as the water is flat with no current or waves, so it makes for an easy swim. Duathletes will start with a short .75 mile run instead of the 1/4 mile swim.
The bike course makes 2 loops around the south and north ends of Tradewinds Park. The course is closed to cars and is completely contained inside of the park. There are also no hard u-turns on the course, making for a fast and easy bike split.
The run course goes along the path next to the lake in a counter-clockwise fashion. Athletes will complete 2 laps here as well to make 3 miles.
