2010 Yough Xtreme Adventure Race:
- This race is transitional/unsupported & will be raced with both a linear & Rogaine format.
- Solo's & 2 person, 3 person & 4 person teams will race approximately 50 combined miles through the rugged and beautiful Laurel Mountains of south western Pennsylvania.
Course Information:
USARA Nationals Qualifier. The 12th annual Yough Xtreme AR will consist of:
- 25+ miles of mountain biking,
- 20 miles of treking/orienteering,
- 9 mile kayak on the Middle Yough river,
- 175' rappel off of the Historic railroad tressel & a river swim.
- This race is transitional/unsupported & will be raced with both a linear & Rogaine format.
Directions:
From Philadelphia & Washington D.C.
- Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike (76) west to exit 10 at Somerset
- Follow Hwy 281 south to Hwy 653
- Follow 653 west to Normalville
- At Normalville take 381 south to the town of Ohiopyle
- Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike (76) east to exit 9 at Donegal
- Take Hwy 381 south to Ohiopyle
Other Info:
- The winner of the 3 person coed category qualifies for the USARA National Championship in October.
- The winning team will receive $400.00 toward their entry fee to USARA Nationals from American Adventure Sports, as well as Solomon race jackets, from USARA & Solomon.
- The 2nd & 3rd place coed, 3 person teams, also qualify for USARA Nationals.
