This Event is a major fundraiser for the Athens Area Boys Soccer team. The funds raised from camp will assist players in attending camps and purchasing equipment. The race is held in a beautiful park in Sayre, Pa. Racers will enjoy the views of the Susquehanna River for the entire race! Every leg of the race is either on or alongside of the river. Come out and enjoy the beauty of the river and support our young athletes at the same time!
Course Information:
The race will consist three stages starting with a 2.5 mile kayak/canoe, followed by a 16 mile bike loop, and finishing with a 3 mile run. The race will start at the Sayre Boat Landing and finish at Riverfront Park. Competitors may participate as a individual or as a team. Awards will be given to the overall male and female winners, top three in each age group (male and female), and team awards. Description: River Front park is located on South Thomas Ave. The park features trails to walk, the Carantouan Greenway, large space to run around in, athletic fields, and a small set of swings. This would be the perfect place for a quiet picnic right in town so grab a blanket and bring your picnic basket. This park also has a boat landing which leads into the Susquanna River. Sayre's amazing Valley Fireworks Show is held at the Sayre Riverfront Park every year.
