Triathlon : Swim 500 yards, Bike 16.6 road miles, Run 3.75 miles |
Do you enjoy competing in the great outdoors? If so, you'll love the Mighty Mississinewa Triathlon. Follow the same paths historically walked by the Miami Indian's. Swim the lake, ride county roads, and run groomed trails through beautiful natural areas.
Proceeds from this event will be invested in a fund managed by Indiana Heritage Trust. This fund will be used to purchase ground around Mississinewa Lake, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, IDNR, as it becomes available. Conserving and managing land for today's visitors and future generations to enjoy, is the goal of the IDNR and the staff at Mississinewa Lake.
Saturday, September 14, 2013: Mighty Mississinewa Triathlon
Start time: 8:30 a.m. all times Eastern Daylight Savings Time
Packet pickup - Sept. 13, 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Onsite check-in late registration cannot pay with credit card - 7:00 to 7:30 a.m.
On-line registration closed after September 10.
Race Course Characteristics
Swim- 500 yards, Provided color swim caps must be worn. Two corners out across and back, 6+ waves staggered, wet suits may be used.
Bike 16.6 mile
Run-3.75 miles Some rolling hills and well maintained trails. Runners must wear the race number in front. There will be 3 water stations on the run course.
The Miami State Recreation Area at Mississinewa Lake is the host site, which is located on the southwest end of Mississinewas property. The reservoir is located 8 miles southeast of Peru or 9 miles east of US31 on Miami County Road 500 S., 4673 S 625 E, Peru, IN 46970
