This is 10th annual race for individuals and families of all ages and abilities. Costumes and team themes are encouraged.
All proceeds are used to provide fuel assistance for residents of Contoocook and Hopkinton. In addition, all participants are welcome to bring items for our food pantry.
There will be online, mail-in and same-day registration. There will be light food, gatorade stations and free t-shirts to the 1st 100 participants to register. You will need to register 45 minutes before the race begins to place boats and bikes.
The race begins at the Hopkinton High School with a 2 mile run to the banks of the Contoocook River. The participants, individuals or team members, launch their boats into the river for a 5 mile paddle down river. About 1/2 way, the paddlers/teams take their boats out of the river above the dam in Contoocook Village and carry them about 200 meters to the put-in point below the dam. The paddlers take their boats out at the Tyler Bridge. From their, they board their bikes for the 14 mile bike ride through rolling countryside, across a covered bridge back to the Hopkinton High School.
From the north or the south, take I-89 west out of Concord to Exit # 6, Rte# 127. Go 1 mile north to Contoocook Village. At the stop sign and a fountain on the left, turn left and go across the Contoocook River bridge. After you cross the bridge, bear to your ride onto Park Avenue and go north approximately 1/2 mile to the Hopkinton High School.
