Description: The Great Buckeye Challenge — located at the beautiful Buck Creek State Park in Springfield, Ohio features a distance for everyone. This is the New & Improved Great Buckeye Challenge featuring an exciting new single loop 56 mile course for the Half Triathlon & Duathlon. Whether you want to go short or long, triathlon or duathlon, The Great Buckeye Challenge has the event for you. The event starts off with a women's only triathlon, followed by a mini, sprint, Olympic and half distance triathlon & duathlon. ALL FINISHERS will receive a HUGE custom made Great Buckeye Challenge FINISHER medal.

This spectacular venue is located at the beautiful Buck Creek State Park in Springfield, Ohio. Triathletes will swim on courses paralleling the beach, a followed by challenging bike courses in Clark County and finishing with run courses on a bike course and a gently rolling bike trail.
Course Info:

WOMEN'S ONLY TRIATHLON

The Women's Only Triathlon featuring a 250 yard point-to-point swim (in waist deep water along the beach), followed by a 7 mile loop course through the park camground and finishing with 2 mile out and back run on the bike trail.

MINI TRIATHLON & DUATHLON

The mini distance triathlon will start off with a 250 yard point-to-point swim (in waist deep water along the beach), followed by a 7 mile loop course through the the park campground and finishing with 2 mile out and back run on the bike trail. Duathletes will start off with a 2 mile run.

SPRINT TRIATHLON & DUATHLON

The sprint distance triathlon features a 750 meter clockwise rectangle swim along the beach, while the duathletes are running an out & back 5k on the bike trail, followed by an out & back 20k bike course through the countryside surrounding the park and finishing with an out & back 5k run on the bike trail before returning for a grand finish at the park.

OLYMPIC TRIATHLON & DUATHLON

The Olympic distance triathlon features a 1500 meter 2-lap clockwise rectangle swim along the beach, while the duathletes are running an out & back 5k on the bike trail, followed by a single loop 40k bike course through the countryside surrounding the park and finishing with an out & back 10k run on the bike trail to the turnaround before returning for a grand finish at the park.

HALF TRIATHLON & DUATHLON

The half distance triathlon features a 1.2 mile 2-lap clockwise rectangle swim along the beach, while the duathletes are running an out & back 5k on the bike trail, followed spectacular 1-lap 56mi bike course through the countryside surrounding the park and finishing with a 2-lap out & back 13.1 mile run on the bike trail to the turnaround before returning for a grand finish at the park.

*The sprint, olympic, and half length events can also be completed as a relay team where each team member completes a separate leg of the event.
