2013 Buzz Ryan Sprint Triathlon:

The Buzz Ryan Sprint Triathlon is a fast and furious event that navigates through the woods and wilderness that Buzz helped to create!

Course Information:

Enjoy a beautiful half mile swim in Island Lake, 20 minutes North of Duluth.

Followed by a 20K out-and back bike ride through the coniferous and deciduous forests of Northern Minnesota.

The 5K run takes you on a woodsy trail before finishing back at picturesque Island Lake.

Directions:

From Duluth:

Follow Rice Lake Road (County Rd. 4) North approximately 18 miles to the MP&L Picnic Grounds.

From Biwabik:

Follow County Rd. 4 South for approximately 43 miles to the MP&L Picnic Grounds.

Other Info:

Buzz Ryan was a 7' tall lumberjack who did a lot of his work in the area around Island Lake.
Think Paul Bunyun without the ox.
