The San Juan Islands are routinely in the "top 10 places to visit" lists.
Come out, visit the island, and do a triathlon at the same time.
Our host resort and race headquarters, Lakedale Resort, offers a variety of lodging, from a beautiful room in the lodge or cabins, glamping or camping.
This will be a festive weekend with relay teams welcome. Bring the family and make a weekend of it.
Swim, 1 mile, lake.
Bike, 26 miles, very scenic including a ride along the west side where you may see resident Orcas and through British Camp, one of two National Parks on the island. Challenging course. No hill too long, but lots of them.
Run, 6.2 miles, rolling, rural and right by San Juan Vineyards.
This is a worthy destination event. While you can come for the day, we encourage you to make a weekend of it. Lots to do for the entire family at Lakedale Resort or a 4 mile trip to town and 6 miles to Roche Harbor.
Ferry from Anacortes to Friday Harbor. Take Roche Harbor Road out of town for 4 miles and Lakedale Resort is on your left.
Yes, it can get busy at the ferry terminal, especially on a Friday during the summer. We suggest arriving at least one hour prior to scheduled departure, but 1.5 hours is even better.
Hint: If you're bringing your bike on the top of your car, take it off before hitting the ticket booth and for the duration of your trip to the island. They will charge you an "over height" fee, which isn't cheap.
