0.5 mile swim, 15 mile bike, 5k run
The 1/2 Mile Swim takes place in the Long Island Sound. Please note that the water temperature is usually between 67-71 degrees for this race. The swim is a Wave Start with Age Group Waves beginning at 7:30 AM. There will be Lifeguard Support on Kayaks, Jet Skis and boats. We will have the exit of the swim carpeted to prevent anyone from getting cut on the shells by the waters edge. Swim is Wetsuit Legal.
Please note that the swim is challenging with a bit of a sweep at times and some chop is possible on the water. We recommend that you train in the open water as much as possible for this swim. The run up to the transition area will be fully carpeted.
In the instance that the swim is cancelled, racers will do one loop of the run course in place of the swim. The start of the run format will also be in waves.
The bike is a two loop 7.5 mile course through the town of Miller Place. The Direction of the course is counter clockwise.
The run course is a two loop 1.55 mile course along Cedar Beach. Its a flat and fast run, so get your legs ready. The first half of the loop is on a running path. After getting off the running path you will be running in a coned off section of the roadway. Please stay to the left of the cones in the alley designated for the run. The run course will have water and Hammer Nutrition at each stop. There are two aid stations on the run course.
