An event for the entire family. Midway between Austin and San Antonio on the north side of San Marcos. What makes this race fun? The opportunity to race with your child/grandkid/niece etc! Compete as a adult/child team. Kids race first and then adults. Your times are combined for the team awards based on the child's age group. Parents love the opportunity to watch their kids compete & kids enjoy cheering their parents on as they race:) So sign up just your kids, yourself or sign up as a team! Participant Arrival:
Set up transition from 6:30 - 7:45 am.
Body Marking
Race meeting at 7:45 am
Race starts at 8:00 am

Transition Set Up:
 
Place your shoes, shirt, and bib number on your towel.  
You may pin your bib number to your shirt or wear a race belt.
You will have a transition spot based on your bib number.
Parents may help kids set up their transition area prior to the race but no one is allowed in transition during the race except racers and volunteers.  Volunteers will help kids as needed.
Transition is closed until all racers are finished racing.

Swim: 
Juniors 100 yards, Seniors/Adults/Parents 200 yards.
Participants must wear the swim cap provided in their packets.
Flotation devices are not allowed.  Swimmers may hold on to the side, the lane line, or stand if rest is needed.
Participants will line up according to their bib number which is assigned by the swim time submitted during registration.
A swimmer will be started every 10 seconds by jumping in and then snake swimming up one lane, under the lane line, and down the next lane. 
Lifeguards will be present on the deck to assist any swimmer who needs help.
Swimmers may pass other swimmers.  It is important to give accurate swim times for the kid's distance.
We will start with juniors (4 lengths of pool), then seniors (8 lengths of pool), lastly adults/parents.
Exit swim, go to transition, start run.  Racers must remember to cross timing mats.

Transition:
Take off your swim cap and goggles and leave on towel.
Put on shoes, socks, shirt, and bib number.  Sunglasses and hat if desired.

Run:
Racers must wear their race bib either safety pinned to their shirt or with a race belt.
Shoes must be worn.
No headphones.
Juniors 1k; Seniors 2k, 16-18 & Adults/Parents 4k loop.
There will be a water station as you exit transition and at the turnaround.

Finish Line:
All finishers will receive a finisher's award.
Refreshments and sponsor activities after finishing.

Juniors (7-10) Swim 100 yards, run 1 K;
Seniors (11-15) Swim 200 yards, bike 2k;
Adults/Parents 16-18 Swim 200 yards, run 4 k

Directions:

From Austin:

  • Driving south from Austin on I-35, take exit 210 and follow the frontage road to Yarrington Road
  • Turn right on Yarrington Road and drive west approximately 0.5 miles
  • Turn left on Blanco Vista Blvd.
  • Turn right into the Blanco Vista Elementary School parking lot immediately after Trail Ridge Road approximately one mile down.

From San Marcos

  • Approximately 5 miles north of San Marcos driving north on I-35, take exit 210 and follow the frontage road to Yarrington Road
  • Turn left on Yarrington Road and drive west approximately 0.5 miles
  • Turn left on Blanco Vista Blvd.
  • Turn right into the Blanco Vista Elementary Scool parking lot immediately after Trail Ridge Road approximately one mile down.

Parking:
Please park in the Blanco Vista Elementary School parking lot.  Enter the lot off of Blanco Vista Blvd.  You will be able to enter and exit during the race if necessary.
