Feel like you have been in hibernation lately? Brush off the dust at the TriCats Annual Splash 'n' Dash, hosted by the University of Arizona Triathlon Team.
What is it?
The Splash 'n' Dash is an aquathlon, which is a race comprised of both a swim and run. What should I expect for in this race?
There are two separate race categories: one for adults and one for children. The adults will partake in an 825 yard swim and 5k run, while the kids will do a 175 yard swim and a 0.5 mile run.
How much does it cost?
The prices are as follows: 1 adult - $40 1 child (under 13) - $20 1 college student - $30 1 parent/child combo - $50 (+ $10 for each additional child or parent)
When should I arrive?
The first wave of participants will begin at 8 am. We will release more information on what wave you are in closer to the date of the event. As a rule of thumb, plan to get there at 7:15 so you have ample time to check-in, preview the course, and get warmed up. Here is a tentative schedule:
6:30 - Registration and Check-in opens 8:00 - First adult wave begins 8:20 - Second adult wave begins 8:40 - Third adult wave begins 9:00 - First youth wave begins 9:10 - Second youth wave begins
What do I get with my entry fee?
Your entry fee goes towards the production of a well-run race, a race t-shirt, post-race food, and a goody bag.
The swim will take place in Hillenbrand Aquatic Center. Transition will be located in between and McKale. The run will take place around the U of A Mall.
