The 3rd annual Mankato Mud Run is a challenging mud/obstacle course. We have a 5K and a 3K, and races for Elites, Adults, Kids, and Families. The Mankato Mud Run is a family friendly event, yet challenging for those who run the full 5K. The Mud Run takes place on Loyola Hill, Mankato Minnesota, on Saturday August 17th 2013.
The Mud Run includes 3 Mud Pits, a Creek Run with Tunnel, 2 long steep hills, climbing walls, climbing nets, crawl tunnels, and many other fun obstacles! There is a 5K race (3.1 Miles) and a 3K course (1.6 miles with only 1 hill) so that everyone can participate. While many race, walking is also permitted. Don't forget the Costume Contest!
The 5K includes elite and competitive races, with prize money and trophies. All 5K races are timed. The 3K includes the same obstacles, but is shorter is eliminates a long hill. All Entrants receive Tech Race Shirts, Goodie Bags, and Finisher Medals. Adults can join the after-race party and get 1 free beer.
Race proceeds go to Charity, including Loyola Booster Club and Team Winter.
Kids Races: There are Kids Races for the 3K and the 5K. Parents are allowed to go with their children if they want, for free to supervise.
Team and Company Races: There are Team and Company Races with awards at the 5K distance.
What if I can't do an Obstacle? If you can't do an obstacle, you will be allowed to do 10 pushups instead.

Parking Parking is $5.00 and all parking proceeds go to charity. Parking on the hill is limited so please carpool!

AFTERNOON 5K RACES 1 PM - 3 PM - ALL ARE TIMED
1:00 PM: 5K TIMED ELITE RACE
1:30 PM: 5K TIMED TEAM RACE
2:30 PM: ADULT AND KID 5K RACE
The 3K WILL NOT be timed. The 5K races are ALL timed. No matter which you sign up for, the 5K or the 3K, you will get to do all of the obstacles, with the exception of running up the giant hill on Thompson Ravine road. No trophies in the 3K.
KIDS RACE (3K): The Kids Race is meant for those 16 and under. The race is not timed, and the kids will go off in waves for safety. Parents may go with their children for free, but are not eligible to receive medals, goodie bags, or t-shirts. The kids race goes first, as the obstacle course tends to get more difficult as the day goes on, as the course gets muddier, and the mud pits get stirred up.
FAMILY RACE (3K): The family race is meant for families who want to race together, emphasizing families with children. This race is not timed. Minimum of 3, Maximum of 8 per team. All family members must be directly related.
TEAM/COMPANY 3K RACE (3K): This race is not timed. It is meant for teams of 4 to 12 members who want to simply do the 3K race, and are not worried about time.
ADULT 3K RACES (3K): This race is for individuals who wish to run the 3K without being on a team or in a family group. It is not timed.
5K
TIMED 5K ELITE RACE: This race is for the prize money. If you think you can compete with the big racers, this one is for you. Prize money and trophies to the top 3 male and female finishers!
5K TEAM/COMPANY RACE: If you are a competitive team, this is the race for you. The top 3 teams will receive trophies and gift certificates. There are strict rules for these teams. Teams must consist of at least 4, but no more than 12 racers. All team members MUST finish together to be eligible for prizes, unless there is an injury, or some other extenuating circumstance. Only one team member will be given the chip to carry on a baton, and the baton and chip must cross with the team to be able to win.
ADULT AND KID 5K RACE: This race is for anyone who wants to be timed and run the full 5K.
Directions:
The Mankato Mud Run will be on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Loyola Hill at the High School Parking lot. Parking is available near the football field at the same location.
From Highway 169 (from South or North) exit in Mankato onto Highway 14 heading East. Take the Riverfront Exit. At the bottom of the Exit turn toward downtown Mankato (West). Then turn left immediately onto Good Counsel Drive, by the Casey's Gas Station.
Follow Good Counsel Drive up the hill to the event!
Parking attendants will direct you once you are on the hill.
