2010 Triathlon at Pacific Grove:
  • The City of Pacific Grove and Tri-California Events would like to invite you to come and experience The Triathlon at Pacific Grove.
  • Start with the unique "Kelp Crawl" swim and then enjoy the looped bike and run courses surrounding Lovers Point.
  • The 2010 event will again feature two days of racing along the picturesque California coast.
  • Olympic distance triathlon on Saturday.
  • Sprint distance triathlon on Sunday.

    • Course Information:

  • September weather in Pacific Grove is beautiful. Most mornings start off cool and misty with sun breaking through by mid-morning.
  • Expect an average temperature of mid 70s. The course is a looped course designed for the Olympic Distance Triathletes. The responsibility for counting your laps is the participants, so bring your own system to help you. However, split times will show any errors in lap counting.

    SWIM: .25 miles (1) small loop.
  • All swimmers must do the Kelp Krawl. (Assistance from Sea Otters or Sea Lions is strictly prohibited).

    BIKE: 12.4 miles (2 loops)
  • Two (2) 10k loops along the breathtaking Pacific Grove coastline overlooking Pebble Beachs famous Inn at Spanish Bay

    RUN: 2 miles (2) Loops
  • The route beginning at Lovers Point and proceeding along recreation trail to a turn around point at Berwick Park.
  • Triathletes return to Lovers Point on the ocean side of Ocean View Boulevard.

    Parking Information: Parking is very limited near the staging area. We encourage spectators and athletes to park at one of the following locations:
  • Pacific Grove Middle School near Hillcrest Ave,
  • On Pine Street
  • On Lighthouse Ave. between Pacific Street and Asilomar Blvd.
  • Parking information applies for Saturday and Sunday.
