Course Description:
Swim - The race starts from the beach in Discovery Park, across the bridge from the Transition area, finish line and athlete parking. The swim will be a half-mile in the American River, starting upstream and ending downstream on the opposite side of the American River. There is a sand staircase up the riverbank to the transition area.
The Super Sprint swim will go directly across the river to the opposite bank and exit in the same location as the Golden State Triathlon.
Bike - The 15 mile three-loop bike course is draft-legal and runs on closed local roads. Athletes are responsible for counting their own bike laps to insure they finish all three laps. Athletes not completing all three bike laps will be disqualified. The Bike course will Not have an aid station. Water and Electrolyte Beverage, along with energy gels will be available in the transition area.
Athletes competing in the Super Sprint Triathlon will complete only one lap and return to the Transition area.
Run - Both the 1-mile and the 3-mile run courses are fast out and back courses along the beautiful American River Parkway. There will be aid stations at the start of the run and at mile one. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line.
Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.
Aid Stations:
Aid stations will be located in the transition area and at mile 1 on the run course, serving cold water, gels, and electrolyte beverage.

The park is located beside I-5 in downtown Sacramento. From I-5 take the Richards Blvd. off-ramp then go west to get to the South entrance of the park. Signs denote the park's location from I-5. There is a $5 vehicle charge.
Packet pickup:
Packets will be available the day before the event at Fleet Feet Sports in Sacramento from 10 am to 6 pm. Fleet Feet Sports is located at 2311 J Street, (916) 442-3338 Packets will also be available race morning from 6:30 am until 9 am at the race site
Wave Starts:
The Super Sprint Triathlon will start at 8 am with TWO waves, each 5 minutes apart.
Wave one: Men and Women 39 and under
Wave two: Men and Women 40+ and Athena, Clydesdale athletes
The Golden State will start at 9 am. There will be SIX waves, each 5 minutes apart.
Wave 1 at 9:00 am: Men 34 and under
Wave 2 at 9:05 am: Men 35 to 44
Wave 3 at 9:10 am: Men 45+ and Clydesdale Athletes
Wave 4 at 9:15 am: Women 29 and under and Athena Athletes
Wave 5 at 9:20 am: Women 30 to 39
Wave 6 at 9:25 am: Women 40+ and all Relay Teams
