The race starts on the beautiful beach of Lake Como nestled in the Bitterroot Mountains in western Montana. The open lake swim is usually in the mid-to-upper 60s. The bike is on forest roads, double track, and some single track. Cross bikes are not recommended but are allowed. The run follows the lakeside trail for 7.7 miles of mostly singletrack. Don't let the scenery distract you but don't leave without taking it in.
