In Score Orienteering participants are given a map with a series of checkpoints called controls marked on it. Get to as many of those controls as you can within your chosen time limit.
ROGAINE (Rugged Outdoor Group Activity Involving Navigation and Endurance) is the longer version of the event done by two or more partners.
Points are awarded for the distance and difficulty of each control.

Course Information:
The one-hour event will involve relatively easier navigation to control locations that are close to the event 'arena'. In the two and three hour events participants can try to go to the far reaches of the park.
Mass starts at 10 AM or 11 AM for the two and three hour events, 10 to noon for the one-hour event.

From the north take I-75 to exit 200, go to Tamiami Trl, go right 1.3 miles to Oscar Scherer State Park Follow signs on park road to the event arena.
From the south take I-75 to exit 195, go west on Laurel Tamiami Trl, go right 2.5 miles to Oscar Scherer State Park. Follow signs on the park road to the event arena

An ideal event for the aspiring adventure race teams to sharpen their land navigation skills or for the teams to break up and establish the bragging right of who is the teams's best navigator.
Participants are expected to carry enough drinking water to get them through the event. Water will only be available at the event arena.
