The 2013 Rookie Triathlon:

- This shortened course is ideal for both beginners and experienced athletes itching for speed.
- In addition to the usual Age Group and Open division, this one-of-a-kind event offers separate wave starts, finishers medals and wards for true rookie competitors.

Triathlon Race Course:
- The Rookie Triathlon course is a 300 meter swim, 11.2 mile bike, and 2
mile run. - The swim is held in Decker Lake.
- The bike will be held on
partially closed roads, with the cyclist in a protected lane. - The run is a mixture of park road and smooth off road paths.

Driving Directions
The event starts and finishes at Walter E. Long Metropolitian Park, 6614 Blue Bluff Rd, Austin, TX.
This event requires several road closures in the vicinity of Walter E. Long Park. Please be aware that roads may be in the process of closing or already closed early in the morning of the event. All spectators should plan to arrive before 8 AM or they will not be able to park inside the park grounds. They will have to park on the side of Blue Bluff Rd. and walk at least 1/4 of mile to the park.
