This is a well organized but small race, friendly to beginners yet with enough competitive types for racing as well. Litchfield is a rural small town (think, tractors and cornfields :) ), so the country roads were empty and clear for the race. Although it was my first duathlon/multisport event, as an experienced runner and spinning instructor I also wanted to be as competitive as I could be. This event satisfied me on both ends - accessible enough for a first timer, but still a race. I even raced a fellow duathlete down to a sprint finish. A great season opener to test your fitness or try a duathlon for the first time! I hope they do it again in 2014.
