The 6th annual Tri-ing for Children's triathlon will be held at Ottawa Lake State Park in the beautiful Southern Kettle Morraine Forest. A swim in Ottawa lake is followed by a bike course through the gently sloping hills of the forest. A portion of your registration fee and all fundraising proceeds benefit Tri-ing for Children's, Inc., a non-profit charity for children's hospitals.
Each athlete will recieve a technical t-shirt, a safe course with an experience water safety team on the swim marked by large highly-visible buoys. Pre-race water and post-race refreshments will be served.
The course will be accurately measured and well-marked, and the race will be chip-timed by SMA timing. Transition will be secure and professional bike SAG will be provided by Trek Bicycles in transition and out on the course.
A pre-race clinic from a local pro triathlete and/or USAT certified coaches will be announced closer to race day.
Throughout the season, the Wisconsin Tri Series scoring will be tracked on Athlinks, and at each race you will have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a Trek Speed Concept bike at the end of the series.
Swim: The swim is in spring-fed Ottawa Lake. The Sprint distance will be a single loop swim, cornering to the left. The Olympic swim will be two loops cornering to the left. Swim buddies will be available on a first come, first serve basis at packet pick-up. Swim buddies will be limited based on interested volunteers. **This course is opposite direction as previous years to facilitate the new transition area.
Bike: The bike course is flat and scenic for all distances. Sprint distance is one loop and Olympic distance is two loops. There will NOT be an aid station on the bike, please come prepared.
Run: The run course is flat and fast on paved trails and Hwy ZZ. There will be two small sections requiring you to run on grass. The Sprint route will be an out and back. The Olympic route will require two loops. An aid station will be located in the park allowing runners to take fluids in both directions.
