THE SWIM: 500 yard course which is an out and back swim in Lake Oelwein.  Boats and lifeguards will be on hand at the lake at all times. 

THE BIKE:  a challenging 15 mile course that will take you through the outskirts of town and ending back at the lake.  ALL Bikers MUST have helmets.  No Drafting allowed.  There will be a SAG Wagon.

THE RUN:  End the race with a 5k loop that heads through the hills and around our lake.  Water / Aid Stations will be set up at every mile. 

Divisions

Individual: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89. 

Team:  Compeition is relay style with two or three individuals.  You CANNOT do both the individual and team competition.  Teams may be co-ed. 

Clydesdale/Athena:  If you are a male weighing 200+lbs, you qualify to race in the Clydesdale Division.  If you are a female weighing 145+lbs.  you qualify to race in the Athena Division.  You must indicate your preference on entry form.  Note:  Even if you meet the weight standards, you are not requried to enter this division.

Participants shall not be permitted to wear wetsuits without penalty if the water temperature is above 78 degrees. If the water temperature is below

78 degrees participants may use their own discretion.

 

The Bike: is a challenging 15-mile course that will take you through the outskirts of town and ending back at the lake. All bikers must have a

helmet to participate. Bikers without helmets will not be allowed on the race course. NO DRAFTING ALLOWED. Marshals will patrol the entire

course. There will be a SAG wagon.

DIVISIONS– Awards will be given to top three competitors in each Division.

USA Triathlon: Due to the Sanctioning of our USA Triathlon membership, individual membership is required for all competitors. Unlike many

other sports federations, USA Triathlon does offer an athlete who is not currently an annual member the opportunity to pay for a one-day or single

event permit. The cost is $7 for a single event permit. All members MUST present their USA Triathlon membership card at registration or will

have to pay the $7 single event permit cost. You may register for an annual membership prior to the Tri-Five by going online at

 

www.usatriathlon.org and paying the $25 annual fee.

Plan to party lakeside with us after the race at Edgewater Golf Course. We will have sports drinks, fruit, beer and other goodies on hand to replace

those spent carbs, as well as a DJ for some live music. Entrants will be eligible for drawings during the Post Race Celebration. We will have shower

houses open after the races so participants can cool down, please bring your own towel.

Race packets can be picked up during registration at Edgewater Golf Course. Please arrive at least an hour early if you have not registered.

Participation will be limited to the first 200 participants.
