Adults: Run 5 miles, Swim 500 yards
Kids: Run 1 mile, Swim 100 yards
Location: Minot Family YMCA 3515 16th ST SW

Course Info: Two loop run with 2 moderate hills each loop. Swim in a 25 yard pool.

Saturday May 13, 2006 ::: Grand Forks, ND: Dewey Kvidt Memorial Duathlon
Run 3 miles, Bike 15 miles, Run 3 miles
Start Time: 8:30 a.m.
Location: Ulland Park / Softball Complex
Course Info: Flat throughout. The bike transition area will be occupying part of the Ulland Park parking area.
More: Cash awards to top 3 male and female finishers.
  • All participants receive an event t-shirt, goodies bag and post-race refreshments.
  • A number of door prizes will also be given away during the awards ceremony.
    Directions To Race: Ulland Park is located at 47th Avenue South and South Columbia Road.
  • From I-29 North or South, take the 32nd Avenue exit and head east on 32nd to Columbia Road. Turn right on Columbia Road and head south to 47th Avenue. Turn left on 47th Avenue and head east. The parking lot for Ulland Park and South Middle School will be on your right

  • Swim is out-and-back in McDowell Dam.
  • Bike course begins at McDowell Dam, travels 1.5 miles south to Old Highway 10, East on Old 10 for 4.5 miles, back to the dam.
  • Run is an out and back 1.5 miles each direction from the dam to old 10.
    Directions: McDowell Dam is located 5 miles east of Bismarck Old Highway 10

That year 3000 athletes participated in 12 events. Since then more than 87,000 participants have participated in over 38 events to make the Prairie Rose State Games one of the largest per capita state games competition in the United States. Each year the Prairie Rose State Games are hosted by the park districts in one of the four host communities who plan, manage and sponsor the event. These park districts spend many hours preparing for the games and managing hundreds of volunteers annually.
