3 Things you should never, under any condition, do at the gym

3 Things you should never do at the gym

gym training program

Whether you’ve just starting to go to the gym, or have been going there for years, there are some mistakes every one of us from time to time make without noticing the negative impacts certain habits might have. And by negative, we mean you won’t get the wanted results as soon as you would want to. Or that just might put you in a big risk for injury.

If you have already started seeing too little results and have been wondering why the big changes haven’t come to you yet, then, don’t worry. There are probably some kind of mistakes your making that are fixable? Well, it’s time to get it right and start re-boost your gym training once and for all.

Don’t only use the static gym machines

Keep in mind that, although fixed machines are beneficial in many ways, they should never become your only training option. Unfortunately, despite static machines at the gym might seem very professional and worthy, they tend to isolate our muscles. If you decide to follow a training program that is only performed on these static machines, then, you should know you won’t get all the benefits you can from going to the gym. If you really want to burn all the calories you don’t need and also, work and build all your muscles, then, you should ask your instructor to guide you on other exercises which are performed while standing on your own feet.

Don’t do too much cardio

Yes, we know, cardio is essential to weight loss. But, as everything else, you shouldn’t overdo it. Whether you have just become a gym-fanatic or not, try to always perform your cardio part in the right, moderate way. Experts recommend that the “cardio part” should never last more than 40% of the total time you spend at the gym. If you are not only thriving to lose weight but on the meanwhile you want to build a toned, strong body, you should add some weight training on your gym routine. One of the best methods you can follow is by adding a 20-minute cardio training at the beginning of your training routine. Then, close your workout with an additional 20 minutes of cardio.

Never imitate someone else’s routine

A bad exercise technique is like a virus. If someone does it (and he/she happens to be in a perfect shape), then suddenly, everyone else does it too. First of all, when practicing an exercise, ask your instructor to guide you. He can teach you what the right technique of that exercise is. If you don’t ask this essential question, then, chances are you’re going to perform it in the wrong way. This means it will bring zero benefits on your body. Stop blindly copying someone else’s techniques.

Secondly, you should always stick to your specific training program. Just because another female has some amazing thigs or a guy has an incredibly six-pack, doesn’t mean you should do what they’re doing. Their physique, metabolism, genetics and fitness level might are different and work in a different way from yours…
