Heart Zones Coaching, Trek Women’s Sprint 8 Week Triathlon TrainingMay 14th - July 10 (Race Day)Group meets Saturdays at 7:30am - 9:30am, various locations around the Madison areaKickoff meeting Saturday May 7th at Berkeley Running Company This group is for women who have some familiarity with triathlon or endurance events. Participants in the group will improve their skills by following a daily training schedule designed as an 8 week progression to race day (the Trek Women’s Sprint Triathlon in Pleasant Prairie, WI). Individual workouts will be based on Heart Rate assessments and Sally Edwards’ HeartZones methodology for the most effective training. The team will meet on a weekly basis for a coached workout to get detailed feedback on technique and practice other aspects of triathlon training (bike maintenance, mental preparation, smooth transitions, etc). Beginner and Intermediate level, Group Training for women
Kimberly completed her first triathlon in 2004 at the Danskin Women’s Triathlon in Wisconsin. With the help of heart rate training and a strong network of coaches, teammates and training partners, she has steadily improved her performance over the course of more than 35 races. She is now a nationally ranked USA Triathlon All American and she represented the U.S. at the 2009 Age Group World Championships.
Over the past 5 years, Kimberly has focused on working with first-timers, primarily coaching women's training groups in preparation for the Danksin and Trek Women's Sprint Triathlons in Pleasant Prairie, WI. She believes that the shared information, and support available in a group training environment can be a valuable experience, motivating women towards ever greater challenges and successes.
