One-on-one personalized coaching with athletes

I specialize in athletes desiring to participate in long course (Half Ironman & Ironman distance) triathlon.  For the athlete utilizing heart rate zones, pace zones, GPS devices, or power devices I can tailor a program that conforms to the technology you use.
My personal coaching philosophy is all about balance balancing training & race objectives with an athletes individual life.  My main objective as your coach would be to provide you with as much information, direction and insight as I possibly can while instilling in you the mental and physical confidence to achieve your goals.

As long as I can remember I have been riding a bike and running.  I grew up in central Pennsylvania playing soccer, lacrosse, running track, skiing and racing BMX.  While earning my degree from Penn State, I played club soccer, lacrosse and served as a ski instructor at Tussey Mountain.  I also discovered mountain biking which provided balance to my road biking.  Upon graduation, I moved to Vail, CO to teach skiing while waiting for acceptance into the Marine Corps Officer Candidates School.  In a professional capacity, Ive made my career with the United States Marine Corp, currently serving my country for the past 19 plus years.

I started triathlon in the fall of 2006 based on a bet with a friend.  I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but he challenged me to race in a half Ironman with him the following spring.  Since that race I have never looked back.  I have completed two Ironman events, over a half dozen Half Ironmans and countless sprint and Olympic distance races.  I run marathons, half-marathons, 10 milers, 10Ks, and trail races.  With the help of a coach, I have placed in my age group at the sprint and half Ironman distance and had a 110+ minute personal record at an Ironman.  Triathlon has become a lifestyle for me.  I became a USAT certified coach so that I might be able to impart what I know onto the athlete who is willing to listen and wants to improve.
