I enjoy working with individuals who are getting started in triathlons and those who are working toward longer distance races. I am interested in the impact that a triathlon lifestyle can have on health and wellness. I have worked with triathletes in field and lab settings in areas including: testing for VO2, lactate threshold, resting energy expenditure, and muscular strength and endurance, and working with training program development, bike fit, and injury rehabilitation. Relevant courses I have taught at the university level include exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, bicycling, swimming, and weight training. My education includes a B.S.Ed. from Baylor in Recreation, a M.Ed. in Health Education from the Univ. of Houston, a M.S.Ed. in Exercise Physiology from Baylor, and I am working toward a Ph.D. at Oklahoma State University. My triathlon experience includes 42 triathlons, including a half ironman, and 17 road races including a marathon.
