Blink Multisport was founded in the fall of 2005 and started with four (4) members. The club was founded upon a desire to create camaraderie during training and races, support a local charity and introduce people of all ages and abilities to the sport of triathlon. Today, the club has over one hundred members.
Again this year, Blink Multisport is focused on the following main objectives:
1. Supporting charitable organizations. In 2011 we have decided to open up our charitable contribution list and give our members the choice of four different charities in which to support. Each membership will include a $75 donation to either the Grand Rapids Wheelchair Sports Association, Susan G Komen Foundation, Spinal Muscular Atrophy Foundation, or The Ride of their Lives Foundation. Some members are involved in charitable training groups such as Team in Training, which would count towards the charitable efforts.
2. Introduce new people to the sport of triathlon. One of Blink’s objectives is to encourage healthy lifestyles and assist people in attaining their lifestyle goals. Blink’s current sponsors, including Gazelle Sports, help steer veteran and amateur athletes alike to the opportunities we offer.
